The Program in Rural Monitoring and Evaluation (PRiME) has been recognized with the 2019 IFAD Grant Award under the category of “Innovation”. The award recognizes the project’s innovating approach related to its context, its usefulness, and its effectiveness to achieve the project objectives.

IFAD acknowledged PRiME as cutting-edge because of its innovation in establishing a global training framework in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) focused on the rural sector. Moreover, since its inception, PRiME was designed to be a model for other sectors.

Another aspect that made PRiME deserving of the award is that the knowledge products developed under the grant are public goods to allow further replication and scaling up. All the material designed for PRiME’s courses is available for download through our website (primetraining.global) without any associated costs.

Furthermore, the program’s training delivery model is also unique. The courses are offered in developing countries in three different languages in five-day face-to-face modules requiring an online assessment upon completion. And the target group approach is novel as it is focused on training frontline professionals at the country level where capacity building efforts are most needed.

We are honored to receive this award and share it with all the community who conform PRiME.
