Khotso is currently the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning at Data Innovators Group. Before this position, he led the CLEAR-AA Center’s work on technical evaluation, assisting strategic clients to strengthen their organizational capacities to design and implement evaluations and build systems and processes to generate and use quality evidence in decision-making. One of his recent projects is South Africa’s Transport Education Training Authority (TETA). In his career as an evaluator, Khotso has both participated and led a total of 12 program evaluations. To mention a few, in 2013, he evaluated the impact of disruption by mining operations on secondary school outcomes in Limpopo and North West in South Africa – using a quasi-experimental design. In 2016, he co-authored a systematic review and meta-analysis of education interventions in South Africa. Khotso has also been part of an evaluation team conducting a Randomised Controlled Trial of Early Grade Reading intervention by the South African Department of Education, piloted in North West Province.
