Urvashi Wattal is a Policy and Training Manager at J-PAL/CLEAR South Asia. In this role she supports the regional office’s efforts to promote evidence-informed policy making and building capacity for monitoring and evaluation. She is the policy lead for the Health sector at J-PAL South Asia and manages the Cash Transfers for Child Health Initiative. Prior to joining J-PAL/CLEAR she worked as an evaluations and research manager at Catalyst Management Services in India, working on evaluations of interventions addressing child marriage, agricultural extension, domestic violence, HIV, and the use of ICT in education. Urvashi holds a master’s degree in development studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, in Mumbai, India. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Economics and international studies from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in the United States.
